The archive I have chosen is the online music streaming platform, Spotify. I have chosen this image due to the wide range of not only music but also music videos, album covers and other visual ways that the artist has chosen to portray their work. There is over 100 million songs on Spotify, with a lot of them featuring a different cover to resemble the music. I feel that this platform is one of the best and most easily accessible archives for Album covers as it is so easy to search and find them.
This archive is categorised by a range of different methods. Some of these are by genre, recent releases, trending music and also popular by country. These all make it easier to access different parts of the archive that you might not have witnessed before. As the archive is primarily for music rather than for imagery, it is categorised by the genres of the music. However, this does reflect slightly in the album covers as you can quite easily tell a lot of the time what genre a piece of music belongs to just by looking at the cover. Overall, I think this archive is quite interesting as it can be repurposed for different reasons by different people.
